TRUVELA
Privacy Policy
Updated: 26 September 2026
Truvela helps you identify a product from a photo and compare it with public reference photos. Truvela has no accounts, keeps no history and does not store your photos.
Data Truvela processes
- Photos you take or choose (up to 3 per scan). EXIF data and GPS location are removed before analysis.
- Text read from the photos (such as model names or product codes). Text recognition runs on your iPhone.
- A random install id, used only to limit how many scans can be made per minute. It is not tied to you or your device and disappears when you delete the app.
- Technical information recorded by the server infrastructure, such as your IP address, to prevent abuse.
Where data is sent
- The Truvela server, running on Google Cloud (Firebase), receives your photos for processing.
- AI providers (Anthropic Claude and OpenAI, via the OmniRoute gateway) receive the photos and recognised text to identify and compare the product. These providers process data under their own policies.
- Search services (Serper, Tavily) receive only the product name as text to find reference photos, never your photos.
- The server downloads public reference photos from retailer and official brand websites.
Retention
- Photos and analysis results are not stored after the scan ends.
- Server logs record only processing time, error codes and the model used — not photos, recognised text or results.
- Public search results (not your data) may be kept in server memory for up to 6 hours to speed up later scans.
Your choices
- Truvela only sends photos after you agree. You can withdraw consent at any time by tapping TRUVELA on the camera screen.
- Because Truvela keeps no photos or results, there is no personal data to delete after you stop using it.
Limits of the result
Results are a visual comparison with public reference photos, not a certificate of authenticity. Check with an authorised retailer before any important purchase.
